Women's Weight Lifting Week

Women's Weight Lifting Week is all about helping women find their empowerment and progress to the next level of their physical (and mental and emotional) wellness! Held every March, all classes are taught by women and geared for women. UNC Asheville students, faculty, and staff learn can learn the benefits of strength training, debunking common perpetuated myths about strength training, and how to find their STRENGTH. Choose between beginners topics for those who have never lifted a weight in their life, advanced topics for those who have attended in the past and want to beef up their established routines, and everything in between. No one will be turned away from events- we just want to create a safe space for women to learn traditionally male-dominated subjects.

Challenges and Prizes


Attend at least one workshop and one lecture and receive:

A "Get Lifted" tank top
A pair of lifting socks

Attend two workshops and two lectures and receive:

One of EACH! **If supplies allow**

Hashtag Challenge

1. Follow Campus Recreation on Instagram @unca_campusrec and/or like us on Facebook at UNC Asheville Campus Recreation. Be sure to do this step or the posts you make won't be counted! 

2. Post pics of you lifting and/or attending women's weightlifting week events using #getLIFTEDunca AND tagging Campus Rec. You can post as many times as you want- the more times the more chance you have of winning a prize. 

3. By Monday April 3rd two winners will be randomly selected to win a S'Well 17oz stainless steel water bottle (of your pattern choice!!!!)
