Club Sports

UNC Asheville’s Club Sports

Club Sports are recognized student organizations, formed by students, providing opportunities to be on a team and participate in a variety of sports and activities.  A club sport must be competitive in nature. Although it varies from club to club, most clubs practice 2-3 times per week and compete against other collegiate teams across the state, region, and even nation.

Participation in club sports is a great opportunity for both college students and community members. They provide the opportunity to find a community, stay active, explore different opportunities, and thrive. All skill levels are encouraged to join.

Club Participation Benefits

Participating in a club sport at UNC Asheville opens the door to a wealth of benefits, including the opportunity to build a strong sense of community, with the potential to become a leader, maintain an active lifestyle, explore new interests and opportunities, and thrive both personally and athletically. Our programs are inclusive and welcoming, encouraging individuals of all skill levels—whether beginners or seasoned athletes—to join and contribute to the team’s success.

As a part of Campus Recreation, a successful club will also have access to UNC Asheville campus resources, such as small amounts of University funding, the ability to fundraise or receive donations to a unique club fund, the ability to use equipment, and the option of reserving facility spaces like recreational courts and fields.
