UNC Asheville Cost: FREE For all current UNC Asheville students, staff and faculty with valid OneCard in hand.
Community Cost: $10.00, cash or check only.
Tips for your First Visit: Bring a towel and change of clothes! Wear a bathing suit, and a long-sleeve, non-cotton shirt if you tend to get cold easily. Arrive to the pool at 7:25 p.m. so you can be the first in line to get help from our staff in getting sized for gear and learning the basics. Of course, feel free to arrive anytime that is best for you.
Rules for the Pool: We like a clean pool. Please hose off personal boats before getting in the pool. On busy nights, there is a 20 boat maximum in the pool.
Rules for Playboating: Playboat in the deep end only, helmets are required (we are happy to provide you one).
Rules for Minors: Boaters under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult on the pool deck. Boaters under the age of 13 must be accompanied in the pool by an adult chaperon, providing 1-on-1 supervision. Adult chaperone must know how to use an unresponsive paddler rescue (“hand of god”). UNC Asheville has limited small equipment, and does not have youth specific boating equipment. Feel free to bring your own gear and start those paddlers early!
