The Sherrill Center Fitness room houses a variety of exercise equipment and accessories, including:

  • Cardio Equipment
  • Selectorized Equipment
  • Free weights
  • Benches
  • Racks
  • Mobility Equipment
  • Weight Lifting Platform
  • Resistance Bands
  • Yoga Straps
  • Weight Belts

Fitness Center Policies:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age to utilize the Fitness Center.
  • You must sign an annual Campus Recreation waiver prior to activity.
  • Exercise attire required. No jeans, cargo pants or khakis. Top required.
  • Footwear required. No bare feet, open toed or open heeled shoes.
  • No food allowed. Drinks in closed, re-sealable plastic containers are permitted. No glass containers are permitted.
  • No phone calls, loud noises, disruptive conversations, personal amplified sound devices, or phone audio.
  • No alcohol or tobacco products, or any University prohibited substances.
  • No offensive language, or language that is intended to disrupt others.
  • No photography or recording allowed, including of oneself.
  • Patrons should respect the space and privacy of others.
  • When taking an extended break from equipment use, please stand back to allow others to utilize the equipment.
  • Please follow good hygiene practices and be mindful of reasonable usage of perfumes, colognes, and deodorants.
  • Bags, jackets, and other personal items should be stored in cubbies or lockers. Items that do not fit in cubbies should be stored in a locker. These items should not be left on the Fitness Room floor or equipment, and the Front Desk is unable to hold items for you.
  • Please note that when checking out equipment, your RockyCard is the only acceptable means of exchange.
  • Misuse of equipment that causes damage may result in a fee to the user.
  • Please re-rack all dumbbells and plates after use and return all accessories to their proper locations.
  • Please wipe down equipment after use.
  • Weights may only be dropped while using the Olympic Weight Platform, and must be dropped at or below knee-height. Bumper plates must be used for drops.
  • Equipment may not be removed from the Fitness Center.
  • No animals allowed in the Fitness Center.
  • Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. Found items may be turned in at the Front Desk.
  • Use of the Fitness Center outside of designated open to close times by any individual is unauthorized.
  • Campus Recreation staff enforce all of the above policies in order to help keep the facilities and community safe. We greatly appreciate your adherence to these policies.
