Multi-Purpose Courts

Multi-purpose CourtsThe Student Recreation Center has three Multipurpose Courts located on the lower level of the building. These courts may be sectioned off to allow multiple events to occur simultaneously. This space is used by the Health and Wellness Department for academic classes, Athletics Department for practice (during inclement weather) and camps, Intramural Sports, and Sport Club practice.

The Campus Recreation Department has the ability to set up the courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton, kickball, tennis and indoor soccer. When academic classes are meeting on a court, the court is closed for general use. A facility schedule is placed on the bulletin board at the entrance of the court floor. Access to this space is allowed during operational hours and requires a current Onecard or Recreation pass.    

Multi-Purpose Courts Rules and Regulations:

  • UNC Asheville ID and Rec Passes are required
  • Academic classes have priority of scheduling space at all times
  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the Student Recreation Center, with the exception of water. This applies to everyone, including the recreation staff, outside groups and classes.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and are not allowed in the weight room.
  • Pets are not allowed in the facility, on the track or any of the recreation fields.
  • Roller blades or wheeled objects are not allowed.
  • The desk phone is for staff use or emergencies only. Free local calls may be made from the courtesy phone located in the Student Recreation Center lobby.
  • Hard-sole shoes are not allowed.
  • Alcohol, drugs and tobacco products are not allowed in the Student Recreation Center, on the track or any of the recreation fields.
  • Headphones must be used with all personal music devices.
  • Profanity will not be tolerated.
  • Only athletic type shoes and shirts that cover the entire back, shoulders, ches, and torso allowed in the weight room (sandals, flip flops, sports-bras, bathing suit tops, tank tops, etc. are not acceptable).
